Day 7-Sea Green

Blenko Water Bottle Sea Green

Sea Green was a catalog color from 1937 to 1958 and 1960 to 1964.  Before we reach the end of this blog, you will be very tired of Sea Green.  At last count I owned 18 of them.  In the early years I bought them because I kept thinking they were some other color and once I had them, most of them remained in the collection.  I love the crudeness of the early ones, the inclusions, the bubbles and the stretched out necks.

Sea Green appears to be a pale green but varies to a darker green or a bluish green.  If you think you have a color other than Sea Green, check the very bottom layer of glass.  In Sea Green it always appears to be a specific green color, much like an old Coke bottle.  This is true for the early ones and for the water bottles from the 1960’s.
