Day 51-Chestnut

Blenko Water Bottle Chestnut

Chestnut was a catalog color for the year of 1965 only.  It must be one of the most rare of the catalog colors.  I have only seen one in nearly ten years.  (Now, you can see it too!)

  1. I look forward to each new post. I am a fairly new Blenko collector, and I am learning quite a lot from your blog. Thanks!

    • Thank you for the positive feedback. When I first started, I wished there were more information available, especially information regarding color identification. That was one of my prime motivators for doing this blog. I wanted to provide what I was missing when I first got started. There are also a couple of websites with information out there that you might already be aware of. One is BlenkoCollectors.com. Color identification seems to have stopped at about 2007. There is also Blenkoarchives.org which has photos of Blenko, primarily from the “Historic” period. Thank you again, I encourage comments!

  2. I must say of all the Blenko Production colors this may be the rarest or close to it if not. I have never seen one, not even a picture until now. I’m sure I could find a spot for it on my shelf if I ever happened acrosss one.

  3. I am happy to announce that I am the lucky winner of one of these on eBay just a few days ago. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope it is as nice as the pictures show it to be. This color has eluded me for probably 10 years or more. I’m always looking, so this just shows how rare this color is. The author of this website is probably the top collector of Blenko Water Bottles and he has only seen one in ten years. The one he bought. Now we can say that we have seen only 2 in over ten years. This is one rare bird and one happy collector!!!
